In person, we’ve learned the correct body language to use. We not only make eye contact, we use a certain eye contact to convey that we are interested.

Online we are limited to words and words only. So, how do we flirt online?

We can start with our first outgoing email. The first one will either make you or break you.

First, study your “love interest’s” profile to get a feel for their personality. If he is very sincere, sending a silly email might get you off on the wrong foot. And as we all know, we rarely get a chance to make a second impression. If you’re going to flirt online, take the time to do it correctly.

One really nice guy I met online had a very strange, dry sense of humor. I never knew when he was kidding. Whenever I received an email from him, I would read it over and over with a furrowed brow, just trying to figure out if he was serious or not…or maybe I missed something. Was there a hidden meaning? Do I need to read between the lines?

I let a friend of mine read the emails; she laughed and said he was just flirting with me.

I thought, “is that how to flirt online?” I hoped not…

I soon felt his emails were way too much work, and eventually I told him we didn’t have anything in common, and left it at that. I’m sorry…it took the fun out of online dating!

Here are a couple of my favorite outgoing emails that have worked for me for many years:

“I was strolling around and I noticed your light was on and decided to poke my head in and say hello. So, what are you doing with yourself this evening?”

Or…

“I was just wandering around Cyber Singles Land. Not too sure where I was heading…I saw the cutest little angel and decided to ask for directions. I asked where I could find a tall, handsome gentlemen with a heart of gold. She directed me to your place. I was a little disappointed that you weren’t home. So, instead of leaving a note, I left a little love, from San Jose. When you get the chance, I hope you will take the time to return the visit. Looking forward to hearing from you…soon.

Blind dating can sometimes be awful. This is why you need to know how to prepare for the worst. You will find that while you may have good luck on a blind date you are just as likely to have bad luck. You need to make sure that you know what to do whenever you end up with a dud for a blind date.

Unattractive

If they are unattractive, then don’t let this be a total deal breaker. While a physical attraction is necessary whenever you are dating a person you should still give them a chance. You may eventually find yourself falling for their personality to a point where you find them adorable. Don’t allow an unattractive date to immediately make you dislike them.

Boring

It can be really easy for a blind date to get really boring really fast. There are a few things that you can do to try to fix this. From there start asking them questions that they can’t answer with just yes or no. If they only have boring things to say, then attempt to change the subject.

Weird

Face it some blind dates are just weird. They may have a nervous tick or they may talk too loud or too soft. If a person is just plain weird, then try to have fun with it and at least keep yourself entertained until it is time to say goodnight.
